There are different names called for this air mass sensor; air flow meter, air mass meter, or air flow sensor.

An air mass sensor is an electronic device that meters the amount of air being drawn into your engine. This information is sent to the engines control module that controls a lot of the functions of your engine.

The manufacture recommends to replace the complete unit in order for a trouble free driving.

Common symptoms consistent with Air Mass Sensor failure include:

Sensor is stalling and inconsistent

Rough idle quality

Poor throttle response

Reduced fuel mileage and hesitation during acceleration

Tips after installation:

After changing the air mass meter it may doesn’t fix the problem immediately,

It is suggested to disconnect the power from the battery for about 30 minutes to reset the ECU installing the new Air Mass Sensor.
After the 30 minutes, reconnected the car battery. The ECU has no memory of all the previous settings and readings from the meters and sensors and is allowed to start fresh.
